Everett Ira Skeens Everett Ira Skeens, 89 of Charleston passed away peacefully July 22, 2013 at his home. Everett was a retired Chemical Operator with Union Carbide Corporation, South Charleston Plant with 37 years of service and a WWII Army Veteran having served in Germany and France. He loved spending time on his farm in Roane County working and hunting. He also spent time fishing in Canada and Lake Erie. Preceding him in death were his parents, James Albert and Allie Williams Skeens; infants, Everett E. and Donna K.; great granddaughter, Hannah and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years Freda Skeens; sons, James Skeens and wife Mary of Charleston and Jack Skeens and wife JoAnn of Scott Depot; daughters, Judy Russell of Charleston and Joyce Childers and husband Buddy of Dunbar; brothers, Bobby Skeens of North Carolina and Buddy Skeens of Cleveland Ohio; sister, Mildred Anderson of Charleston; grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Jason, LeAnn, Travis, Jessica, Richie, Josh and Jamie was Paw Paw Skeens sidekick and was always there to help him out and to do the chores that needed done; great-grandchildren, Justin, Kevonna, Ali, McKenzie, Alexis, Kennedi, Sierra, Andrew, Madelyn, Emma, Kody, Dylan, and Taylor, and a host of family and friends who are also left to mourn his passing. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday July 27, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Sowards officiating. Burial will follow in John Beane Cemetery, Grapevine Road, Sissonville, WV. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services on Saturday.
