Ernest W. 'Ernie' Ellis Jr. 77, passed from this world to his heavenly home on November 3, 2023, after a long illness. He fought to continue here as a true soldier of God, but God determined his work here was done and it was time for him to rest.

Preceding him in death are his father, Ernest W. Ellis Sr., his mother Bertha Burgess Ellis, his sister Wilda Ernestine, and his brothers Donsal Dean and Lonzel Albert 'Abbie' Ellis.

Ernie is survived by his children Yolanda 'Angel', Billy, Ernie III, and Casey as well as their spouses. His brother and sisters Paul (Jan) Ellis of Bristol, VA., Kathryn 'Kathy' Horton of Dayton, Ohio, and Wanda Goodwin of Cross Lanes WV. He is also survived by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ernie is mourned by his dear friends Ted, Lora Mae, Sissy and Sharon, who were all so supportive of him over the years.
For most of his adult life, his occupation was an automobile body man and painter.

Service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 W. Washington Street, Charleston. Burial will follow in Burgess Cemetery, Grapevine Road, Sissonville.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at Noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
