Obituary

Elizabeth Adrian Harris Walker, affectionately known to her family and friends as "Tinichee" went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on November 30, 2017.
Adrian was born on February 19, 1939 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Turner Harris and Josephine Harris Miller. The second oldest of eight children, she graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School and received an associate degree from West Virginia State College. During her high school years, she met and married the love of her life the late Richard G. "Punkin" Walker. They were married for 59 and half wonderful years. From that union two children were born, Debbie (Dana) and Michael (Kecia).
Adrian was a kind, loving and compassionate wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt who dearly loved her husband, children, family, and friends and we loved her back! She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Turner, Jr., Larry, and Susie as well as a special sister, Florence Casey. Adrian also leaves to cherish her memories, sisters and brothers: Mary, David, Dorothy (Mitch) and Richard (Sarah); special sisters, Nellie and Carolyn; special cousins, Tootsie (Ike) Coleman and Tommy (Brenda) Dean; grandsons, Michael Jr., Jermaine, Jordan, and Cequan; her only granddaughter who resided with her, Terri Anne "Brown Sugar"; and a host of cousins, nephews, and special friends. She maintained a special relationship with her family and friends.
A caregiver and childcare advocate, Adrian worked for Tiny Tyke Prep Center for twenty-one years as the Assistant Director. She was adored by all the children she came in contact with and maintained a relationship with many of her co-workers, even after retirement and often went back to childcare care center to read. Adrian was a very active member of Order of Eastern Star, Nazarene Chapter #20 serving as Past Grand Warder until her husband got sick. At the point she dedicated her time to his care. Her love for Eastern Star remained steadfast and she enjoyed the sisterly visits and many telephone conversations.
Adrian will be remembered as a sweet and gentle spirit who loved all she encountered and listened with her heart to all we had to say. She would often reminisce about the good times she shared with her family and her friends. One of her fondest memories was her high school classmate's naming her "Most Prettiest" and "Most Kindest." She enjoyed the sisterly visits from her special friends, Patricia Giles, Ruthie Clark and many others who wanted to share in the joy of friendships.
Service will be held to celebrate her life on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at noon. Viewing and family visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 Washington Street West, Charleston, WV 25302.
