Obituary

Edward V. Snead, 83, of Campbells Creek, Charleston, went home to his Father's house on June 2, 2016. He knows you will mourn but don't be sad for him. He will have no more pain or suffering. He is in his Father's house will all of his loved ones who went on before him. Remember him with love and happiness until we meet again. Mr. Snead was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War. He was also a KRT Bus Driver, retiring in 1995. Preceding him in death were his wife of 35 years, Jean Snead; sister, Barbara Newhouse; and stepson, Gary Whitten. Surviving are his loving children, Rodney Snead and wife, Rosie, Frank Snead and companion, Angela Harrison, and Rhonda Hudson, all of Charleston, and Larry Snead and companion, Edna Fisher of Point Pleasant; ex-wife, Marion Thomas; step-children, Ralph Whitten and wife, Deanna of FL, Lynn Duncan and husband, Robert of AZ, and Jeanie Tyler and husband, Bob of Charleston; sister, Esther Cox of TX; grandchildren, David and Jessica Hudson and eight others; three great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and niece, Debbie Zeisler of TX. Also surviving are several other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 7:00 PM Monday, June 6, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Moss and Rev. Mike Long officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edward's name are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, WV Chapter, 1601 2nd Ave., Charleston, WV 25387 or the Campbells Creek Food Pantry, c/o Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Campbells Creek Dr., Charleston, WV 25306.
