Edward Lee Burdette, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 13 at CAMC Memorial Division. He was 85 years young.
Edward was a retired mechanic and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, "He was a family man"
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Leora Burdette, beloved daughter, Barbara Thaxton, brothers, Paul, Ted and Rick Burdette, sisters, Greta Peters and Shirley Good.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Vonda McClanahan Burdette; son and caregiver, Wayne Burdette of Sissonville; daughter, Judy Asbury and son Eddy Leon Burdette, both of North Carolina; brother, Roger Burdette and wife Diane of Charleston; sister, Becky Good and husband Roger of Sissonville. Grandchildren, Danielle Given of Sissonville, Love Hulin, Amber West, Jay Asbury, Tyler Burdette and Kristen Burdette, all of North Carolina; 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild on the way.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday August 17, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Bill J. Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services on Thursday.
