Edgar Lee "Eddie" Eary Edgar Lee "Eddie" Eary, 73, of Charleston, passed away at home November 29, 2012, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Hermie Eary. Eddie was a retired sheet metal worker from Local Union Hall No. 33, and a Scout Master for many years. He was a member of Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. When he wasn't working he spent the majority of his time building and painting vehicles and motorcycles. He was loved and respected as the "neighborhood dad" as he always had time to mentor, guide and help any and all who needed him. He was a loving husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed. Eddie is survived by wife of 53 years, Kay O'Halloran Eary; son, David Eary and wife, Reba; daughters, Stephanie Ray and husband, Larry, Carolyn Jo Jackson and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Davie and Dustin Eary and Dylan Ray; brother, Charles Eary and wife, Brenda; niece, Christine Dillihay and nephew, Todd Eary; and loyal companion dog Molly. The Eary family would like to thank their extended family and friends who gave their love and support through this difficult time. The family would also like to thank the staff at Thomas Memorial Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital and Hospice Care. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Benny Bess, the Rev. Arthur Morrison and the Rev. Johnny Lipscomb officiating. Entombment will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 3, at the funeral home.
