Obituary

Douglas L. Snodgrass of Charleston passed away February 21, 2011 at Hubbard Hospice House after an extended illness. He was 81. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Snodgrass and Mae Snodgrass Lively, his son, Joseph Snodgrass, and a granddaughter, Ellen Elswick and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Snodgrass, his daughter, Deborah Elswick and her husband Ronald of Charleston, and two sons, James Snodgrass and wife Billie and Eric Snodgrass and wife Lesa both of St. Albans. He also leaves 7 grandchildren Wendi Craven and husband James, Terra Fisher and husband Beau, Jina Hayes and husband Roger, Brent Snodgrass, Morgan Snodgrass, Blaine Elswick and Christy Snodgrass. And 11 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Clarence Snodgrass and wife Joan of Prescott Valley, AZ and Alonzo Snodgrass of South Charleston. Doug was employed at Libbey Owens Ford for 19 years and then went into the Electrical field. He was a member of Electricians IBEW Local 466 of Charleston from which he retired in 1993. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at Dunbar, WV where a memorial service will be held Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 5:00 PM with Joseph Bently, Jr. presiding. There will be a visitation with the family from 3 to 5 PM at the Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 606 King Street, Dunbar, WV, or Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
