Obituary

Dorothy Mae (Gibson) Palmer, 79, of Kenna, WV, passed away June 14, 2012 in Cedar Ridge Nursing home, after a long illness. She was born December 27, 1932, in Walton, WV, a daughter of the late Hubert Maxwell and Melva Lucille Gibson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Stonelick Community Church in Kenna, and the United Gospel Mission Church in Charleston. Dottie enjoyed life and being around people. She was a former Arthur Murray dance instructor, and lived in many different locations during her lifetime. She liked to bowl, and watch Atlanta Braves baseball and Nascar racing on television. She is survived by three sisters, Mary Walden of Ripley, Carol Marr of Crossville, Tennessee, and Helen Riggs of Kenna, a niece Teresa Lynn Casto (Brent) of Troutman, North Carolina, and a nephew, Herman Maxwell Neeley, (Tina) of Triangle, Virginia. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral with the Pastor Johnie Winnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Droddy-Canterbury Cemetery in Walton, WV. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services.
