Dewey Wayne Shaffer, 61, of Ravenswood, passed away suddenly at home on April 19, 2015. Wayne served our country in the US Air Force and also the National Guard. Upon his discharge, he went to work for Union Carbide. He loved the outdoors and riding his four-wheeler. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey C. Shaffer; and sister, Donna Jean Crockett. Survivors include his mother, Genevia "Jackie" Shaffer; brother, Sanford "Sammy" Shaffer and wife, Gloria; sister, Billie B. Hileman; and his companion, Patricia Painter, all of Sissonville. Also surviving is his best canine friend, Keylo, whom he worshipped. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Burial with military honors provided by American Legion Post #61, Clendenin will follow at Sissonville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time also at the funeral home.
