Dessie E. "Jean" Eggleton went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2011. She was 83 years old, having been born on January 22, 1928 to the late Harrison and Rosa Young. She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Eggleton, Sr., her sister Lessie Dixon and five brothers. Surviving her are children, Guy Otis Eggleton, Jr., and Diana Lou Eggleton, and her sister, Marie Turley. Her niece and caregivers, Sandy Cooper and her husband, and nephew, Gary Cooper, Sr., and Judy Williams. Other nieces, Ella Mae Rutkauskas, Mary Garnes and Delphia Pritt. Jean lived most of her life on Charleston's West Side, where she loved to be. She loved working in her yard, and would talk to anyone who would stop by the house. She will be sadly missed by all who truly cared for her. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.
