David "Teddie" Shirkey David "Teddie" Shirkey, 41, of Charleston passed away June 20, 2011 at CAMC Memorial Division. He was an excellent artist, loved music and played guitar. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest E. Sr. and Grace D. Garretson; and paternal grandfather, William M. Shirkey. He is survived by his parents, Dianna L. Garretson and William David Shirkey; sister, Heather Dawn Shirkey; grandmother, Virginia Shirkey; aunts and uncles, Blanch Gabriel and husband Paul, Reta Tinsley and husband Albert, Ernest Garretson, Nathan Garretson and wife Norma, Michael Garretson and wife Kathy, Dena Harper and husband Joe, and Teena Garretson. A celebration of Teddie's life will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Carter officiating. It was Teddie's wish to be cremated. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service also at the Funeral Home.
