Danneil was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, mother, and friend. She was born on March 1, 1989 in Charleston, WV, to Eileena McClanahan and Howard Hanshaw. Danneil was a loving and compassionate person who loved being silly and the center of attention wherever she would go. She was such a free spirit and if you told her not to do something, she would do it twice. She was taken from our lives way too soon as a result of cardiac arrest on August 15, 2021. Danneil's body was frail from her addiction and the demons within for her heart to heal and continue beating. This disease took her to places of incredible darkness that she struggled to overcome. The drugs told her, "I can make you feel accepted, good, worthy. I can make you feel loved and make you feel nothing at all." However, it failed to tell her how it would devastate her family and friends and take, take, and take; leave her penniless and homeless. It would take her sparkle and smile and become a barrier to her creativity and her own worst enemy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. We ask when you think of Danneil, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. Danneil is survived by her loving children, Madyson Mae McClanahan, Ann Rhi McClanahan and James Edward McClanahan; mother, Eileena McClanahan; father, Howard Hanshaw and his wife, Candy; grandparents, John and Rita Simon and George and Betty Hopkins; siblings, Dustin McClanahan and fiancé, Jennette, Curtis Allen Hanshaw and his wife, Sasha, Christopher Hanshaw and Brent Hanshaw; special uncles, Alan McClanahan, John Simon, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her two BFFs, Rachel Patterson and Kristen Beane. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Cunningham Parker & Johnson Funeral Home in Charleston, with Pastor Carl Casto, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Simon Cemetery in Kenna, WV. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cpjfuneralhome.com
