Daniel Ray Hammonds, 62, of Charleston passed away peacefully on February 12th, 2026, at CAMC Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born March 27th, 1963, to the late Mansford and Wanda Hammonds. Danny had a heart of gold and will be missed by many.
In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Juanita McClanahan and Ida Hammonds, his sisters Teresa Young and Arlie Marie Hammonds, along with uncles and aunts.

He is survived by his brother Ronnie Hammonds, children Edwin Shaffer and Ashley Hildt, and 3 grandchildren. Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins and niece Crystal and nephew Justin, and the love of his life Vickie Cavender.

Per Danny's wishes he will be cremated with a service at a later date.
