Dana Lee
Lynch
Aug 4, 1973 — Nov 2, 2026
Charleston
Dana Lee Lynch gained his wings on the morning of November 3 at the Genesis Dunbar Center after a long illness. Dana had a love of cars from an early age and spent much of his life working in automobile-related occupations, most recently at Sissonville Used Autos. His children were his greatest source of pride, he enjoyed the outdoors, and he was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need, whether it involved working on cars, detailing vehicles, or helping with lawn care. He was happiest when he was working with his hands and making a difference in someone’s life.
Dana was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Arlie Lynch, as well as his beloved son, Cody Lynch, and missed the light emitting from Cody’s fun and loving personality on a daily basis. He leaves behind his treasured baby girl, Piper Wilson, of Fort Worth, Texas. He will be greatly missed by his birth mother, Diana Wilson, as the two of them resided at Dunbar Center and provided comfort to one another. Dana’s sister, Kimberly Wilson of Fort Worth and her wife, Jennifer, will be charged with keeping Dana’s memory alive as they continue to raise his daughter, Piper.
Also left to cherish Dana’s memory are his stepdaughter, Kimberly Walker of Bedford, Virginia, as well as his stepchildren, Nick Lane, Mollie Outland, Matthew Creasy and Simon Creasy, all of whom he loved as his own. He is additionally survived by a brother, Gary Lynch (Paula); a sister, Marsha Smith (Lawrence) of Hurricane; and a large extended family of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dana received care and support from the wonderful staff at the Dunbar Center for many years, and over time, they became much more than caregivers to him. He considered them and his roommate Jonathan as family, and their kindness and companionship were an important part of his life.
Dana will be remembered for his vibrant personality and willingness to help whenever possible. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service celebrating the life of Dana will be held at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10th, 2026 with Pastor Stewart Cottrell officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held an hour prior to the service.
