Cynthia McClanahan, 82, of Sissonville, passed away peacefully November, 25, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She was born September 29, 1935 to Charles and Cynthia Spradling, in Charleston, who preceded her in death. In 1963 Cynthia and her husband Othel McClanahan, Sr. founded McClanahan Service, which they owned and operated together.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Othel McClanahan, Sr.; sisters, Ethel Burchfield, and Roselee "Marcie" Cobb.
Surviving are sons, Othel "Dicky" McClanahan and wife, Kay of Sissonville, Mark McClanahan and wife Debbie of Scott Depot; daughter, Lola Hart of Charleston, and Cynthia "Peachie" Marion and husband Sherman of Sissonville; grandchildren, Trace Marion, Christina Scragg and husband, Shawn, Sam Hart and wife, Kayce of Sissonville, and Tyler McClanahan of Morgantown; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ashlee Marion, Mara and Seth Scragg. Step-grandson, John Paul Phillips and wife Tonya of St. Albans. Step-great grandchildren, Danielle, Haley and Laura Phillips all of St. Albans.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor Brad Bennett, and Rev. Loretta Isaiah officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, also at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.
