Cody Finster, 35, of Charleston WV, passed away on April 15th, 2026. He was born on November 21st, 1990 in Birmingham Alabama and grew up in Charleston where his love of music, art, and community took root.

Cody was preceded in death by his biological father Jeremy White.

Music was Cody's heartbeat. Whether he was strumming his guitar, beating out a rhythm on his drums, or losing himself at a rock show, his passion filled every room. He could often be found skating the streets of North Charleston, a guitar slung over his shoulder, or hunched over a new handyman project, his hands as comfortable with a wrench as they were with a sketchpad. Those who knew him saw a man whose creative spirit was as vibrant as the colors he drew.

Family was the center of Cody's world. He was a devoted father to children Ryder Finster, Lukas Finster, Logan Finster, Hallow Warren and Harvest Warren who he adored and who adored him in return. His parents Diane and Mark McCallister stood by him through every chapter, and his siblings Jeremy Parsons, Austin Copley, Nathan Hill, Joshua Hill, Ethan McCallister, Alyvia McCallister and many siblings that were not blood but none the less were brothers and sisters, He was loved by all. He will be remembered by his goofy grin and boundless love. He also shared a close bond with his brother in law Mike Parsons and sister in law Alaya Carpenter-Hill.

Cody's life time partner Sara Chandler was his steadfast companion, cheering on every idea, no matter how off beat. Friends and extended family will miss his warm laugh, his willingness to lend a hand, and the joy he brought to gatherings.

Cody's memory will live on in the melodies he left behind, the sketches that capture his imagination and the love he poured into his children and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday April 21st 2026 at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00pm. Per Cody's wishes he will be cremated after the service and will be buried at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens.
