Claude William McCormick, 79, of Racine went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2023 at home.

Claude was born in Racine on August 24, 1943 to the late Samuel and Sarah Anderson McCormick.  In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Reese McCormick; granddaughter, Mariska Elizabeth Krokus; brothers, Howard and Sammy McCormick; and sister, Nancy McCormick.

Left to cherish his memory are children, Michele McCormick and Jason McCormick both of Racine; grandchildren, Tyler Polidori, Chloe Krokus, Kirsten McCormick, and Grant McCormick; brother, Mike McCormick (Jill) of Bloomingrose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Claude was a 1961 graduate of Sherman High School, and attended Morris Harvey College.  He was an Air Force Veteran, Iron Worker with Union 301, Beni Kedem Shriner, and especially enjoyed woodworking, farming, and fishing.

Service will be at Noon Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 W. Washington St., Charleston.  Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
