Obituary

Clarence Dexter Jarrett Clarence Dexter Jarrett, 84 of Kenna, formerly of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord, April 7, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House, surrounded by his family, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 65 years, Thelma Jarrett. Dexter was former owner/operator of the Esso station in Nitro, and retired from Tru Temper Corporation. He was a member of Chandler Drive Church of God, where he was a trustee. He enjoyed working around his home and taking care of his wife. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are; daughter Debbie Watson and husband, Darren of Kenna; son, Mark D. Jarrett and wife, Nena of Charleston; grandchildren, Amber Binion, Lee Watson, Christina Knapp, and Mark D. Jarrett, Jr; great-grandchildren, Cole, Brooke, Jules and Braxton. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston with the Rev. David McCormick and the Rev. Tim Warden officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post No. 61, Clendenin. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in Dexter's name to Hubbard Hospice House, 1606 Kanawha Boulevard W., Charleston, WV 25312-2536.
