Christine "Chris" Meredith Stewart Waugh, 84, of Charleston, WV went to be with the Lord and her daughter Angie on Monday November 6", 2023. In addition to her daughter, Angie Waugh Morgan, Chris was preceded in passing by her mother Meredith Gwinn, step-father Rev. Roy Gwinn and father Charles Manley Stewart. Chris is survived by her husband of 62 years, John C. "Jay" Waugh of Charleston, WV; daughter Cheri Waugh (Kelley Lester) of Carolina Shores, NC; son-in-law Brett "Buzzy" Morgan of Cross Lanes, WV; granddaughter Jenny Morgan (Russ Hunt) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; grandson John Morgan (Catherine Morgan) of Marysville, OH; sister Vickie Downey of Little Elm, TX; "bonus children" Cindy and Mark Greenlee, along with their family, all of Charleston, WV. Chris was born on July 31, 1939 in Quinnimont, WV. She graduated from Hinton High School in 1957. Chris and Jay were married on March 4, 1961. She was a retired secretary from Tiny Tyke Prep Center where she was affectionately known as "Miss Chris" by the numerous children she cared for over the years. Chris was known for her infectious smile and intense love of everyone she knew. To Chris, "love was a to-do word, not just a to-say word". A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Also, to Dr. Marciano Lee, Dr. Richard Han, Dr. Kevin Driver, Dr. Adnan Nahla, Samantha Stone, APRN-DNP at CAMC, along with the entire team at Stonerise Rehabilitation Center and Home Health, for the extraordinary care they provided for Chris.
