Charlotte Jean Byrd 81 of Cross Lanes passed away October 25, 2013. She was retired from Verizon, formerly C&P, after 30 years of employment. She was a member of The Pioneer Club, a Graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and attended Charleston Mountain Mission Church. Preceding her in death were her son, Cody Gene Byrd; grandson, Cody Gene Byrd, Jr. and her parents Claude and Hallie Haynes Westfall. Survivors include her husband of 61 years Joseph Byrd; daughter, Robin Byrd-Nasby and husband Robert of Cross Lanes; sisters, Karen Hillard of Brooksville, Florida and Delores Summers of Lake Mary, Florida. Grandchildren, Jesse Nasby, Amanda Smith, Mary Beth Monsour, Jenny Jo Smith and Joshua Byrd. 10 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive her. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday October 28, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
