Obituary

After living a long, happy and healthy 90 years, Charles, "Charlie", "Midge" Miller passed away peacefully in the presence of family on November 11, 2017 at Hospice House at Thomas Hospital. He had been in Hospice care for a short time for heart issues and skin cancer.
Dad was met in heaven by our mom, his wife Macel Casto Miller who he missed every day for the past 7 years of his life. He was also met by his mother and dad, Erna and Gordon Miller, brothers William "Dick" Miller and Carl Miller and sister Virginia, "Ginny" Kirksey.
Midge was raised on the west side of Charleston. He attended Little Page and Tiskelwah Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High and graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School. Charles served in the US Navy and Army shortly after the end of WWII.
Charlie worked at Harris Brother Roofing at a job he absolutely loved as a sheet metal mechanic until his retirement in 1986. His relationship with his boss, Calvin Harris and Calvin's son Grey, continued long after his retirement.
The immediate family members left grieving his loss include Robin Miller Marshall and her husband Kevin of Edmond OK and Nancy Jill Miller Tabbert, her husband Bill and grandchildren Abigail and Charlie of Erie MI and St. Croix USVI.
A gathering of family and friends sharing happy memories of his life and his favorite bluegrass music will be on Tuesday, November 21 from 6 - 8 pm at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home on Charleston's west side. At Charles' request there will be a private burial with immediate family earlier that day.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Kanawha Hospice, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. Charleston, WV 25387.
The family will accept online condolences at: cpjfuneralhome.com
