Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Baxter 87 of Charleston passed away April 24, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as an over-the-road driver for Smith Transfer Company after 40 years of services and was a member of Teamsters Local, 175. Chuck was a member of Christ Church United Methodist and had attended South East Church of the Nazarene in Kanawha City. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mancel, son, James William and daughter Leah Ann Baxter. Survivors include his sons, Charles D. and wife Kathy of Winifrede, Ralph E. and wife Patty and Steven D. and wife Debbie of Scott Depot, brother, Robert L. and wife Betty of Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Eric, Shanna, Joseph, Shawn, Jennifer and Cindy and 8 great grandchildren Aaron, Jacob, Conner, Madilyn, Abigail, Marlee Addison and Kase. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday April 28, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ollie Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Baxter Cemetery, Aaron's Fork, Elkview, WV. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Our family would like to thank everyone at the Hubbard Hospice House as well as Dr. David Phillips, Jennifer and the staff at the Ear, Nose and Throat Association of Charleston. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311 in Mr. Baxter's Name.
