Carolyn S. Tyree, 78, of North Charleston passed away Monday, December 29th at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born January 28thst, 1947, to the late Robert M. and Jessie F. Simmons.

Carolyn is also preceded in death by her loving husband George "Harmon" Tyree and brothers Roger, Isaac and Bobby.

She is survived by her sons Robert (Angelia) Tyree, George (Laura) Tyree and Andrew (Wenona) Tyree, grandchildren Michael, David, Elizabeth, Hunter and long-time friend Tressie Harper.

Carolyn was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was church secretary for 40 years. She was also part of the Blanket Ministries Program where she could share her love of crocheting. Carolyn's skill in crafting also extended into ceramics and she became a certified ceramics teacher.

A service honoring Carolyn's Life will be held at noon on Friday, January 2nd at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Charleston with Pastor Don Biram and Pastor Ron Stoner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Hughart-Tyree Cemetery in Sissonville.
