Carlin "Butch" Thaxton Carlin L. "Butch" Thaxton, 62, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness, November 7, 2012. Butch loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Thelma Thaxton. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Sharon L. Thaxton; son Butch Thaxton, II and wife, Danielle of Charleston; daughters, Angie Shaffer and husband, Chris of Charleston, and Shawn Swiney and husband, Caleb of Kenna; brother, Cebert Thaxton; grandchildren, Chris, Cayla Courtney, Anthony, Tyler and Peyton, and a great-granddaughter on the way, Kaelynn. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston with Pastor Randy Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
