Burley Junior Thaxton, 73 of Sissonville passed away August 12, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House of cancer with his family at his side. He was a Christian and had been a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church on Wolf Pen Drive, Charleston. Burley was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Bertha Thaxton; brothers, Raymond, Calvin and Manuel Thaxton. Surviving him are sisters, Eunice Burdette of Sissonville, Mae Jordan and her husband Kermit also of Sissonville; brothers, Earl Thaxton of Sissonville, Garland Thaxton and wife Faye of Sissonville and Owen Thaxton and wife Lola also of Sissonville. Nephews, Markis Burdette of Sissonville. Great Nephews, Josh Burdette, Holdon Burdette and Tyler Waddell. Niece, Lenore Thaxton Wolfe. Great Niece Megan Waddell and other nephews and nieces who are left to mourn his passing. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Floral Hills Garden of Memories Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Walter Means officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery after services. The family would like to thank Dr. Kayi for the care given to Junior, Melody King with Amedisys and Hubbard Hospice House West. Hospice nurses Carla, Lisa, Bobby and Gerald Dee when they came to our home. Also, everyone that called, sent a card or prayed for us during this difficult time. Junior will be greatly missed.
