Brenda Thaxton Whittington, 73, of Sissonville passed away at home with her family by her side, after a short illness.
She was an outgoing woman who would always lend a helping hand to those in need. She took care of a lot of family and friends through out her life. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church for most of her life. She was involved in a lot of activities. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Romie and Goldie Thaxton, husband, Jimmy Otis Whittington, sister, Linda Faye Beane (twin), Dorothy Casto, Betty Harrison, Genevieve Workman, brothers, Bobby, Hillard, Charlie and Paul Thaxton and many friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving daughters, Amy Whittington Thaxton and Shawn Whittington Faber; grandchildren, Kristin B. Thaxton, Colton "J.W." Faber; niece, Becky Ann Beane and many others.
The family wishes to extend many thanks to the caregivers, hospice, Meryle Oxley and Becky Ann Beane, who took excellent care of Brenda.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday August 10, 2018 at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services, also at the church.
