Brenda Sue Shamblin, 66, of Sissonville and Ripley, passed away on July 13, 2026, and left this world to be reunited with her husband, Butch.

Brenda was a wonderful mother and Mawmaw who loved every second of spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with those she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Larry "Butch" Shamblin; her parents, Erma and Leland Hager; her brother, Jack Darby; and her brother, Rick Hager.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Marissa "Boo-Boo" (Cole) Prunty; her grandchildren, Gracie Prunty, Makenna Prunty, Braxton Prunty, and Colton Prunty; her son, Cable Shamblin; her sister, Beulah Matheny; and her great-aunt, Susie Cooper.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Fresenius Dialysis Center in Ripley, CAMC Memorial Hospital, and Hubbard Hospice House for the compassionate care they provided.

A funeral service will be held at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Casto officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. A private family burial will follow at Hackney Cemetery.
