Bonnie Marie Mooney 82, of St. Albans left her earthly struggle behind so she could breathe easy in heaven on August 17, 2017.
She was born in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Amos E. Miller and Bertha Fields Miller on June 9, 1935. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Austin C. Miller and Artmas "Butch" Miller, sister, Betty Loftis Buscher and step-son Charles E. Mooney.
Left to remember the good times and cherish her memory are her husband and soulmate of more than fifty years, Charles S. Mooney of St. Albans; daughter and "son" Denise and Dave Tucker of Dunbar; grandson and "granddaughter" Derek and Denise Walker of Charleston; great-grandsons, JR and Tucker Walker; granddaughter, Tisha Walker of East Providence, RI; step-daughter, Drema Dawn Cook of Sykesville, MD; sister, Nellie E. Harper of Charleston and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked for many years as a waitress at Rose City Cafeteria and at the Top of the Inn at the Charleston House Holiday Inn alongside her sister, Betty and sister-in-law Sheila. Later she was a manager of Maples Trailer Park and the Secretary for V & P, Inc. She led a full life, often traveling and spending time with family and friends. Bonnie and Charles traveled all over the United States, shared a love of the outdoors and fishing, and they shared a special love and bond with their grandson Derek, whom they took everywhere with them. Her great-grandsons are going to miss coloring Easter Eggs with their Bon-Bon.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Sunday August 20, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor John Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, also at the Funeral Home.
