Bonnie Elizabeth Lanham Bonnie Elizabeth Lanham, 96, of Charleston went home to be with her Lord on August 12, 2010, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born October 24, 1913, and was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel W. and Ina Lee Webb; husband, William E. "Bill" Lanham; brother, Lionel F. Webb; and son-in-law, Ray Ranson In her younger years, Bonnie worked as a switchboard operator for C&P Telephone Company, but devoted most of her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Charleston, where she was the Sunday school teacher for the Lydia Bible Class, a deaconess, and a member of the Evangelism Team. She held many offices in the American Baptist Women and Church Women United, where she was presented with the Valiant Woman Award. She also served as president of the West Side Woman's Club, enjoyed traveling with the Ina Webb and Emmanuel Baptist Travel Clubs. She was an avid bowler, loved to work crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and play bridge. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Betty Ranson of Charleston, and Sue Jacobs and husband, Bernard of Melbourne, Florida; five granddaughters, Sherry Baker and husband, Larry, Terri Ranson, Patti Lowe and husband Gerry, Robin Oney and husband, Randy all of Charleston, and Kristie Gentry and husband, Jimmie of Kingston, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Mandy, Elizabeth, Angela, Adam, Ryan, Kerry, Jacob, Sierra, Tyler, Kaylee, Sydney, and Elijah; great-great-grandchildren, Rhianna, Dylan, Lauryn, John, Logan, Mikaylen, Hayden, Claire, Eli, Haylee and Benjamin; She also leaves behind special nieces and nephews and many friends who will miss her fellowship and companionship. Bonnie Lanham was a mighty prayer warrior. Her prayer list was extensive and she pored over it every morning during her daily devotions. Many lives have been blessed and have come to know the Savior because of her tireless petitions to Him. The family wishes to thank some very special friends, Rhonda, Keith and Joyce, for the loving kindness they have shown Maw Maw Bonnie through her last days here on earth. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Charleston, with the Rev. Ronald L. Stoner officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
