Obituary

Bonnie L. Jenkins was born on August 17, 1930, in Ravenswood, WV. She passed away on June 19, 2026. Bonnie was a 1948 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. She and her first husband, Plummer, owned and operated Christy’s Supermarket on Sissonville Road until his death in 1966. After the closure of the Supermarket, she went to work for Hormel Foods, Inc. where she retired in 1988. After retirement she went to work for Ear Nose and Throat Associates for about six years then she decided to stay home.

She attended Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding Bonnie in death was her parents, Raymond and Mildred Weekley, her first husband and father of her children Roy “Plummer” Christy, her second husband Walter T. Jenkins, her loving and caring daughter, Joyce E. Christy. Her only brother, Donald Lee Weekley, Sr, and her infant sister Phyllis A. Weekley.

Surviving Bonnie is her son, Gary D. Christy (Freddie) of Charleston, WV; granddaughter, Samara A. Woods (Mark) of Charleston, WV; grandson Billy D. Christy (Bethany) of Vienna, WV; great granddaughters, Kelsey Craven (Austin) of NC and Megan Frampton of Charleston, and Ashlynn Christy of Vienna, WV; great grandson, Jared Murry of Vienna, WV; stepdaughter, Connie (Don) Berens of Fort Lauderdale, FL; stepdaughter-in law Luci Jenkins of Port St Luci, FL; three step grandsons; great great grandson Malakai and best friends, Diane Melton, Roberta Miller, and Jeannie Weekley.

Funeral services will be held 1pm, Thursday, June 25th at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Crist officiating. Burial will follow in John Bean Cemetery, Sissonville, WV. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
