Billy Ray Smith 71, of Charleston went home to be with his Lord and Sweetheart of 47 years, Joann, who predeceased him.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Billy was a hard worker all of his life and his first priority was providing as good of a life for his family that he could.
He was the owner/operator of Smith Roofing, former employee of City of Charleston, Supervisor of the Parts Dept., and served our country as a Veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp.
He was a devoted Christian and member of the Bible Christian Chapel, Pinch, WV.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Virgil Ray and Ruby Nellojean Patton Smith.
Survivors include his son, Virgil Smith and wife Angie of Charleston; daughters, Pamela Jones and husband Jeff of Sissonville, Patricia Gail Goff of South Charleston and Kellie Carvens of PA.; brothers, Lonnie Wayne Smith and wife Wanda of Hurricane, Paul Allen Smith and wife Jenny of SC; sisters, Donna Meadows of Ripley and Sharon Vance of Elkview.
Nine Grandchildren and Three Great Grandchildren, and a host of friends who are also left to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services will be noon, Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday August 7, also at the Funeral Home.
