Obituary

Betty Jo Walker, 84, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on October 14, 2017.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Denver Ray Walker; parents, Joe and Donnie Holmes. Brother, Kearl Holmes; sons, Harry Lee, Harold Ray, and Timmy Dale Walker; grandson, Christopher Todd Walker; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Gail Walker and son-in-law, Edgar Eugene Phillips.
She owned and operated her own Day Care Center, and was a lifelong member of Walker Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are; her beloved sister, Myrtle Lee Keeler of St. Albans; daughters, Darlene Belcher and husband Denny of St. Albans, Donna Phillips of Charleston, Regina Haynes and husband Eddie of Cross Lanes, and Mary Roach and husband Victor of Charleston, with whom she made her home of 20 years; daughters-in-law, Cricket, Teresa and Terri Walker; 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Special thank you to caregivers, Stephanie Buzzard, Donna Phillips and Hospice Care of Charleston.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Walker Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Tuppers Creek, with the Rev. Jim Edens and Pastor Ralph Sevy officiating. Burial will be in Holmes cemetery, Tuppers Creek.
Friends may call from 12 p.m., noon until service time Wednesday also at the church.
