Betty L. Tate, 65, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord, July 19, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. Betty was a loving mother and an adored grandmother. She will be sadly missed here on earth, but welcomed in heaven. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Andrew Tate; sisters, Phyllis Anderson, and Dorothy Harmon; parents James Harold and Mary Alice Burdette. Betty leaves behind; her husband of 46 years, Charles Andrew Tate; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Beth-Satterfield Tate of Charleston; grandchildren, Jared and Meghan Tate; sisters, Ann Haynes of Sissonville, Faye Lynch of North Madison, Ohio, Linda Fisher of Ripley, and Emmogene Slater of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston with Pastor Kevan Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in Tate Cemetery, Charleston.
