Obituary

Betty Louise Walker, 87, of Charleston, was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Orville William Walker, on April 14, 2015. She was an expert in fashion and was a buyer for several Charleston department stores, even traveling to New York. She was also a former employee of the West Virginia Worker's Compensation department and the City of Charleston. Like her mother, Betty found pleasure in cooking. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Trips to Myrtle Beach were always a favorite. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ode and Hallie Hamon; son, Jimmy Walker; granddaughter, Nikki Fox Sharp; and sister, Janet Scott. Survivors include her loving daughter, Sandra Harrison of Nitro; sons, Gene Walker of Charleston and Robbie Walker and wife, Pam of Port Arthur, TX; stepson, Billie Walker Holderby of Barnet, VT; sister, Eloise Jack of South Charleston; grandchildren, Jamie and husband, Paul, Wesley, Tisha and husband, Donald, Travis and wife, Missy, Brooks, Dustin and wife, Gina, Derek and wife Denise, Laurie, Jeff, Glen and Alina; great-grandchildren, Courtney, John, Joe, Hunter, Delaney, Austin, Burkley, Brianna, Mikayla, Danae, Caleb, Carter, Kinsley, Addison, J.R., and Tucker. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Cunningham-Parke-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
