Betty Jean Dahmer, 89, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday September 30, 2017.
Betty was born July 31, 1928 to Virginia Kathleen Nutter Deitz and Arthur Lovell Deitz of Divide, West Virginia.
She graduated from Vinson High School. Betty married Eugene Dahmer in 1946 and their marriage lasted 61 years.
Betty was a devoted mother and caregiver to her family. She also helped her husband plan the activities for the AEP retirees for many years.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Sutterfield and Olive Bogle.
Those left to cherish her memories include her four daughters, Mary (Larry) Stover, Barbara Walker, Carol (Rob) Bane and Beth (John) Eich. Grandchildren, Mark (Mindy) Stover, Valerie (Marc) Doerig, Jeremie Walker, Erik (Carla) Walker, Brian and Andrew Bane, Ryne (Mandi) Eich and Evan Eich. Eight Great Grandchildren, Lorelei, Evelyn, Tyler, Preston, Alexis, Tristan, Scarlett and Caroline and another one on the way.
A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Dr. William McCoy officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday October 3, 2017 also at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Her grandsons will proudly serve as her pallbearers.
