Betsy Elaine Phillips Betsy Elaine Phillips, 67, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Ruby Rankin; sister, Brenda White; and special niece, Angela White. Survivors include her loving husband, Varrell Lee Phillips of Charleston; daughters, Joyce A. (Michael Baker) Stalnaker of Charleston, Sheryl (Darrin) Ray of Kenna and Christy (Sam Garrett) Phillips of Charleston; siblings, Susie Kenney of Charleston, Kathy Lynn Wagner of Elkview, Mike Rankin of South Charleston, Jay Rankin of Charleston and Pam Carte of South Charleston; and grandchildren, Morgan Stalnaker, Sierra Ray, Jacob Garrett and Cayleigh Phillips-Garrett. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Betsy loved her family greatly and will be missed. Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord ..."
