Basil Ray Wolfe, 78, of Charleston, WV, passed away on February 7, 2026. He was born on May 18, 1947, to the late Ofa Basil Wolfe and Violet Jaunita Bailey Wolfe.

Basil was a veteran of the Peacetime and Vietnam eras, serving in the United States Air Force from August 26, 1966, to July 27, 1970, and again from March 2, 1973, to December 22, 1976. He was a long-time truck driver and took pride in his work.

Basil enjoyed collecting books, walking, watching eagles, talking to anyone, driving anywhere, and staying busy.

In addition to his parents, Basil was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 35 years, Shinta; his sons, Jerry and Allen; his daughters, Elizabeth and Tammy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home, with Pastor David Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
