Barbara Spencer Bostic Barbara Jean Spencer Bostic, left us on April 3, 2010 to be with our Lord and Savior. Barbara was born February 24, 1934, in Braxton County. She was the daughter of the late Romie and Vada Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Romie "Bud" Spencer. Barbara attended the Charleston Mountain Mission Church. She was a loving wife of the late Edward Lee "Pete" Bostic, and a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. Barbara was a devoted wife of 52 years, a devoted worker, she came to Charleston directly from high school and worked for the Valley Bell, quickly becoming a manager. Four years later after having her daughter she went to Lowman's Drug Store, where she worked for twenty seven years, she then became ill with the first case of Legionnaires Disease in West Virginia. She opened her home to private care for elderly, which she did for several years. Barbara was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She will be remembered by all her family, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends as a loving, kind, gentle giving person. She will be remembered as a lady, a lady with a generous loving heart. She always left her door open to all who needed help or a place to stay. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Vada "Kathy" Jarrett and her husband, Danny, and grandson Daniel "Lee" Jarrett and wife, Jennifer; also surviving are her extended family, sisters, Lillian (Rus) Taylor of Servia, Sallie Butcher of Ohio, Violet Hardway of Grantsville, Charlotte (Jack) Argabrite of Ohio, and Linda Eads of Maryland; brother, Dennis Eads of Servia formerly of Charleston. Celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Charleston Mountain Mission with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
