Barbara Ruth McDerment, 87, of Liberty, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2023 at home.

Barbara was born February 27, 1936 in Charleston to the late Claude and Clessie Miller Smith.  In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husbands, Caroll Berkely Coffman, and Jerry Vonn McDerment; son, Ricky Lee Coffman; grandson, Shonn Cobb; brothers, Robert Smith and Claude Smith Jr.; and a special friend, June Wandling.

Barbara loved to joke, laugh, eat out, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are loving children, Frankie Coffman (Judy), and Kathy Cobb (Chuck); grandchildren, Shannon Cobb (Tracy), and Kerri Coffman; great-grandsons, Joshua Cobb, Nicholas Cobb, and Hank Cobb; great-great-granddaughters, Braylinn Cobb and Berklea Cobb; and special niece, who was like a daughter, Cheryl Ann Goff.

A private graveside service and celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
