Obituary

Barbara Jenkins Coleman Barbara "Bobbie" Jenkins Coleman, 88, of Dunbar, passed away July 4, 2015. Barbara was born in Terra Alta, WV on December 14, 1926 to Margaret "Sweet" and Harlan "Jinx" Jenkins. She moved to the Charleston-Dunbar area as a teenager and lived there the rest of her life. Barbara was retired from Columbia Gas Transmission with 30 plus years of service. She was a long-time active member of the Charleston Mountain Mission Church and a 1944 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and the Charleston School of Commerce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H.R. "Spike" Coleman; infant son, Mark Allen Coleman; loving son, Charles Richard "Rick" Coleman; sisters, Virginia Deane Jenkins and Norma Jean Withrow. Continuing to cherish and honor her memory are her granddaughter, Kimberly Coleman Neville (Chris); two great granddaughters, Katie and McKenzie Neville of Columbia, SC; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Debbie Coleman of Cameron, WV; two step grandsons, Brian Scott and David Mason; brother-in-law, Harold Withrow; niece, Vickie Petry; great-nephews, Jeff (Erin) Petry and Kenny Petry, as well as their children; and a host of other family and friends. A special thanks to Dr. John Merrifield, Dr. Matthew Upton, Dr. Narender Jogenpally, Dr. Abdul Zanabli, and their devoted staffs for the care she was given that entitled her a longer life on earth to enjoy her many friends and extended family. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Charleston Mountain Mission Church with Pastor Kenny officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM Tuesday, also at the church.
