Averd "Jake" Harding 89 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2018. Jake was born July 19, 1928 in Kanawha County, son of the late John B. and Geneva Reed Harding.
He retired from Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority with 37 years of service. Served in the Army from 1951 - 1952, stationed in Germany. Member of the Charleston Mountain Mission Church.
Preceding him in death were his Wife, Nancy Marie Harding; Wife, Lila Haynes Harding; Josie Jones, Sister, Elmer Harding, Half-brother and Lindsay Graham, Granddaughter.
Survivors include his children, Nancy Carol Driver and husband John of Sissonville, Jackie Graham of Cincinnati, Ohio, Bonnie Scholl and husband Joe of Ft. Myers, FL and Annis Haynes Harrison and husband Roger of Evans; grandchildren, Ryan Graham Harmon and husband Howard of Cincinnati, Ohio, Benjamin Graham and wife Judith of Chattanooga, TN, Adam Driver of Sissonville, Drew Scholl of Ft. Myers, FL and Crissy Harrison Fowler and husband Ben of Evans, WV; great grandchildren, Peyton Harmon, Tucker Harmon, Zoe Harmon, Sean Graham, Marie Graham, Josh Fowler and Paige Fowler; brother, Orville Harding of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Jean Smith of Charleston and Bertha Holley of Spring Hill, Fl.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Cunninghan-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Dr. Benjamin Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services, also on Saturday.
