Austin C. Miller
Austin C. Miller, 89, of Charleston, passed away August 11, 2017.
Austin was born in Levi, WV, the son of the late Amos E. Miller and Bertha Fields Miller. He retired from Libby Owens Ford. He was a National Power Lifting Champion. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and most recently attended Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Austin loved sharing the word of god.
He served in the United States Navy, during the Korean War, as a first class gunners mate, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal and received an honorable discharge.
Austin was preceded in death by his wife, Janice M. Lee Miller; daughter, Margaret "Bobbi" Goins; sisters, Betty L. Loftis-Buscher; brother, Artmas "Butch" Miller.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met. He let his love for god shine everywhere he went.
Surviving are; sons, Austin Lee Miller and wife, Paula, Mark A. Miller and wife, Christy,; daughter, Tina L. Smith; grandchildren, Elicia Beth Miller, Justin Miller, Trevor L. Goins, and Ryan Smith; sisters, Bonnie M. Mooney and Nellie E. Harper.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor Phillip Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Jenkins Cemetery, Charleston, with military graveside rites, provided by St. Albans VFW.
Visitation with the family will be from 12 p.m. until service time Tuesday, at the funeral home
