Master Sergeant Alfred Ramella Master Sergeant Alfred "Fred" Ramella, 83, of Charleston, passed away November 16, 2012, in CAMC Memorial Hospital. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Joe Ramella; mother, Maggie Ramella; step-mother, Opall Ramella; sister, Sue Hall; brothers, Meridith, Sam, Junior, Pete, Ralph, Bill, Ray and Chuck. He served in the Marine Corps and retired from the Air National Guard, 130th Airlift, Civil Engineering, and the US Postal Service with 23 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by the love of his life, Beverly Ruth Ramella; daughters, Debbie Schumacher and husband, Steve, Diane Smith and husband, David, Marina and Tee, and Beverly Newbold and husband, Byron; son, Danny Ramella; sister, JoAnn Wise; grandchildren, Connie, Katie and Wes, David Lee and Brandi, Stephanie, Kendall, Keelie and Tara; great-grandchldren, Abbie, Wesley, Rashaad, Cameren, Gavin, Kali and Haley. Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, November 19, 2012, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston with the Rev. Ron Stoner officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico, with military graveside rites. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
